Why did Tina Ma’am leave Physics Wallah?

Tina Chopra left Physics Wallah to join Unacademy for various reasons. One of the main reasons was her desire to earn more. I know financial gains in terms of teaching are quite uncomfortable to hear. But it is true. Otherwise, why would a teacher leave a batch incomplete and join another institution? By joining Unacademy, she saw an opportunity to reach more students and earn a lump sum of money. On official notes, she stated that she wanted to explore new horizons. Everyone knows that it is not done in this way. Expectedly, this decision sparked controversy. A chunk of students spread hate against her, leading to Unacademy disabling the comment section of YouTube for months. 

Tina Ma’am Teaching Career

Tina Ma’am used to be one of the most reputed teachers of Physics Wallah in terms of biology. Before that, she was associated with Takshila Classes and GoPrep. Her notes and study materials were top-notch. She was the one who formed the Yakeen batch of PW. But her ambition ruined her. It is not bad to have ambition, but unethically, it’s destructive. 

In between the courses she left PW and joined Unacademy in February 2021. Now frustration is mounting among teachers at Unacademy, and two big reasons are causing an exodus of educators. Firstly, Unacademy has a strict no social media presence policy on teachers’ social media. Secondly, it’s about Unacademy’s pay practices. Teachers are reporting that they’re not getting their salaries on time, and some are even saying they’re being offered stock options instead of cash. For these reasons, Tina Ma’am also left Unacademy and joined Amazon Academy. But she left that institution last year. Now her presence in online teaching scenarios is hardly available.
